Newsec Infra advises Arise on the sale of two wind farms with in total 242 MW to TRIG and funds managed by InfraRed

Newsec Infra acted as exclusive financial advisor to Arise AB (publ) (“Arise”) that today entered into an agreement with The Renewables Infrastructure Group Limited (“TRIG”) and funds managed by InfraRed (“InfraRed”), for the sale of the Ranasjö- and Salsjöhöjden wind farms. The two projects include in total 242 MW (the “Projects”). Closing of the transaction is expected by the end of June 2021, subject to certain conditions being satisfied.

Arise will manage the construction, and once operational, manage the Projects on behalf of TRIG and InfraRed through construction and asset management agreements. Construction of the Projects is expected to begin in Q3 2021 and to be completed in the first half of 2024. The 39 turbines with a capacity of 6.2 MW each will be supplied by Siemens Gamesa.

The transaction is Newsec Infra’s third sell-side mandate for Arise, most recently followed by the sale of the 231 MW wind farm Skaftåsen in 2019 to Foresight.

Daniel Johansson, CEO at Arise AB commented:

“We are very pleased to announce yet another transaction with TRIG and InfraRed. Although the Salsjö project has proved to be challenging we demonstrate our ability to transact even under difficult circumstances”

Omid Ashrafi, Managing Partner at Newsec Infra commented:

“We are happy for the continued vote of confidence from Arise and being able to conclude the so called Twin Peaks transaction together. Also very happy to finally do our first deal together with the InfraRed team after quite some years of close dialogue regarding the Nordic wind market”
