Newsec Infra acted as sole financial advisor to Green Horizon Renewables (“GHR”) and partners on the sale of a 218 MW wind farm portfolio to BlackRock. The portfolio includes 198 MW of ready-to-build projects and a 19 MW operational wind farm. The sellers will manage construction of the ready-to-build projects under a construction management agreement. Newsec Infra advised on the sales process including structuring of the transaction that also included a long-term corporate PPA.
Construction of the projects have begun and all sites are expected to be operational by Q4 2022 / Q1 2023. The 35 turbines of the construction projects, with a capacity of 5.7MW each, will be supplied by Nordex.
Katerina Zychova, CEO at GHR commented:
“We consider the completion of the sale of the Mikana portfolio a decisive milestone for GHRs renewable business in Finland. It also underscores GHRs ambition to further develop its existing renewable portfolios in both Finland and the Baltics. The team at Newsec Infra played a key role in enabling the transaction through their M&A and PPA advisory.”
Omid Ashrafi, Managing Partner at Newsec Infra commented:
“We are very happy for the opportunity of working alongside GHR, its partners and BlackRock on the successful completion of this transaction. The deal included many optimizations along the way. We are looking forward to see its successful completion adding further renewable energy capacity to the Finnish grid.”
