Newsec Infra advises WKN on the divestment of the 113 MW Målarberget wind farm marking the Nordic market entry of Enlight Renewable Energy

  • Plans for 27 wind power turbines with a nominal capacity of 113 MW
  • The PNE Group is a service provider in the field of building and operations management

WKN GmbH, a member of the PNE Group, has sold the Swedish wind farm “Målarberget” with a planned nominal capacity of 113 MW to Enlight Renewable Energy.

Following the completion of the Swedish wind energy project “Laxåskogen” just recently in February 2019, the PNE Group has now succeeded in making another sale in Sweden. The wind farm “Målarberget” is located approximately 150 kilometres north-west of Stockholm; on completion, it will encompass 27 four-megawatt class wind power turbines.

The project was developed by WKN’s Swedish subsidiary VKS Vindkraft Sverige AB, which will also be building the wind farm for the buyer. During the negotiations, WKN was supported by the financial advisor Newsec.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the near future. It is expected that the wind farm will be commissioned by the end of 2020. Moreover, the PNE Group will be responsible for the technical and commercial management of the wind farm after its completion.

Roland Stanze, Head of Commercial Solutions at PNE: “The successful sale shows that our business model has proven itself and that high-quality project development with a customised financing, construction and electricity marketing concept is attractive to investors.”

Markus Lesser, CEO of PNE AG: “I am very happy about this further great success in Sweden. This once again testifies to the high quality of the projects we develop. Along with Poland, France and the USA, Sweden is currently one of our most important foreign markets for wind power projects.”

Gilad Yavetz, CEO, Enlight Renewable Energy LTD: “We’re excited to enter into our first project in Sweden. This investment is part of Enlight’s strategy to expand its activities in developed, subsidy free, fully merchant electricity markets. We were happy to find WKN team as a dedicated and professional developer, which shares with us common vision and values with regard to the world’s clean energy transition. We thank Newsec team for their leadership and creative advisory to the transaction.”
